Yield 10 slices
Maui French Toast
Ingrediants
1 loaf Italian Bread sliced thick
5 eggs
1/3 cup milk
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2/3 cup orange juice
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup sugar
1 stick butter ( dont use margarine)
1 small jar Macadamia nuts chopped finely
1 small can flaked coconut
Orange-Pineapple Topping
Ingrediants
1 large can crushed pineapple
1/2 jar orange marmalade
1/2 cup sugar

Maui French Toast
1. Place slices of bread in 10 x 15 cake pan .
2. Mix all the ingredients except butter and nuts. Whisk them until just well mixed .
3. Dip bread on both sides and place in pan. Pour any left over mixture over bread.
4. Cover and refrigerate OVERNIGHT.
5. Melt butter on a large jelly roll pan.
6. Dip each slice of bread in butter and turn over so there is butter on both sides.
7. Sprinkle chopped nuts and coconut bake 20- 30 minutes in 400 degree oven until golden brown. Check often to make sure coconut does not burn. If top gets too brown, cover with foil.
Orange-Pineapple Topping
1. Place all ingredients in a sauce pan.
2. Bring to a boil, stirring often. Cook until thick. Serve warm or room temp.
